Fees & Funding
At Hand Therapy Collective, we aim to provide clear, transparent information about consultation fees and treatment costs so you know what to expect before attending.
We welcome private patients and accept eligible referrals through Medicare, WorkCover Queensland, the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) and Bupa ADF Health Services.
Consultation Fees
Initial consultations allow time for a comprehensive assessment and commencement of appropriate treatment. Follow-up appointments support ongoing rehabilitation, while extended consultations may be recommended for more complex injuries or treatment requirements.
Splints, Casts & Additional Costs
Consultation fees cover assessment and treatment time. Additional charges may apply for custom thermoplastic splints, casting materials, prefabricated orthoses and other therapeutic products.
Costs vary depending on your individual treatment requirements and will be discussed with you before proceeding wherever possible.
Funding & Rebates
Private Health Insurance
Patients with eligible extras cover may be entitled to rebates for occupational therapy consultations.
Rebates vary depending on your health fund and level of cover. We recommend confirming your eligibility and available benefits directly with your insurer before attending.
Medicare
Eligible patients may access Medicare rebates under a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP).
Most eligible patients can access up to five subsidised individual allied health appointments per calendar year, shared across eligible allied health professions.
Hand Therapy Collective does not bulk bill. Standard consultation fees apply, and patients can claim the applicable Medicare rebate, leaving an out-of-pocket gap.
Medicare and private health insurance rebates cannot both be claimed for the same consultation.
WorkCover Queensland
We accept eligible WorkCover Queensland patients requiring rehabilitation following a work-related injury.
Approved treatment can be billed directly to WorkCover Queensland, subject to claim acceptance, treatment approval and applicable funding arrangements.
Please provide your claim details before attending so we can confirm the appropriate arrangements.
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)
We welcome eligible DVA Gold and White Veteran Card holders.
A valid referral is required, and treatment must meet DVA eligibility requirements.
Approved consultations are billed directly to DVA, with no out-of-pocket gap for DVA-funded services.
Australian Defence Force (ADF)
Hand Therapy Collective is a registered provider within the Bupa ADF Health Services Network.
We accept eligible ADF personnel for hand and upper limb rehabilitation, subject to the appropriate referral and authorisation arrangements.
NDIS
We do not currently accept NDIS-funded appointments.
Payment Information
Payment is required on the day of your appointment unless an approved third-party funding arrangement has been confirmed.
Itemised receipts are available to assist with eligible Medicare and private health insurance claims.
Cancellation Policy
We kindly request at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or failure to attend a scheduled appointment, may incur a fee of 50% of the scheduled consultation fee.
We understand that unexpected circumstances arise and will consider these situations individually.
Please refer to our Terms of Service for the full Cancellation & Non-Attendance Policy.
