Our Services
Hand Therapy Collective provides assessment and rehabilitation for injuries and conditions affecting the fingers, thumb, hand, wrist and elbow.
We manage a broad range of upper limb conditions, including fractures and dislocations, tendon and ligament injuries, peripheral nerve conditions, osteoarthritis and tendinopathies, as well as common presentations such as carpal tunnel syndrome, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis and trigger finger.
We have a particular clinical interest in post-operative rehabilitation, supporting recovery following a wide range of surgical procedures, from planned operations such as carpal tunnel release through to fracture fixation and complex traumatic injuries.
Treatment is tailored to each individual, their stage of recovery and the activities they need and want to return to.
Custom Splinting & Orthoses
We fabricate custom thermoplastic splints and orthoses to protect healing structures, support fractures and soft tissue injuries, reduce pain, improve positioning and assist rehabilitation.
Splints are individually fitted and can be adjusted throughout recovery as swelling, movement and treatment needs change.
Fracture, Injury & Post-Operative Rehabilitation
We provide rehabilitation following fractures, dislocations, tendon and ligament injuries, peripheral nerve injuries and upper limb surgery.
Treatment is tailored to your injury and stage of recovery, and may include education about your condition and treatment options, protective splinting or immobilisation, wound care, swelling and scar management, exercises to restore movement and strength, and guidance to support a safe, gradual return to everyday activities, work and sport.
Wound, Scar & Oedema Management
Upper limb injuries and surgery can result in wounds, swelling, scar formation and reduced movement, all of which can affect recovery and function.
Treatment may include wound care and dressing changes, oedema management, scar treatment, and desensitisation, with a focus on promoting healing, preventing complications and restoring comfortable, functional movement.
Because how you heal matters just as much as healing itself.
Exercise & Functional Rehabilitation
Exercise programs are tailored to your specific injury, stage of recovery and individual goals.
Treatment may include range-of-motion exercises, tendon and nerve gliding, strengthening, dexterity and proprioceptive training, alongside a gradual return to functional activities.
Education and activity modification are incorporated throughout rehabilitation, helping you understand your condition and how to manage it effectively. Where clinically appropriate, additional treatments may include heat therapy (such as paraffin wax baths and heat packs), soft tissue treatment and dry needling.
Ultimately, the goal is to help you return to the activities you need and want to do, with the confidence and ability to do them well.
